Celled vehicles are marked as ambulances and can accommodate one patient and up to five staff if the cell is in operation, or one patient and up to four staff if the cell is not required. The celled vehicle is equipped with first aid equipment, defibrillator, airway management equipment, ligature knife and PPE. It also has a GPS tracker installed, so that the location of the vehicle can be tracked in real time. Celled vehicles can only be used for patients who have been detained under the Mental Health Act and who have been assessed to require this level of containment.

All our vehicles are equipped with specialised cleaning equipment and regular cleaning services are provided to ensure that hygiene standards are maintained.

To guarantee the wellbeing of our staff, drivers, patients and the general public, stringent policy and protocols are firmly in place and each member of the RSTS team has successfully completed training requirements for these procedures.

Our transport services are available any time of the day or night, however whenever possible we highly recommend daytime transfers to ensure optimal safety and comfort for our patients.
